Hey Everyone!!

Thanks for taking the time out to visit Journey with Jo. I’m so excited to share my travels with you all.

I’m just a young twenty-something that has a huge love of travel. So much so that I often jump on the opportunities that come my way to visit new places, mainly solo. Solo travel has enlightened me in ways to numerous to mention, but one thing for sure is that it always keeps me yearning for more.

I was bit by the travel bug in the fall of 2011, where in my senior year of college I was afforded the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in San Jose, Costa Rica. This experience was a life changing one. It taught me a lot of things, but above all it showed me that I was capable of being out of America, on my own, in a foreign country with a language barrier, and still be OK!

I’ve always been an independent person, so the idea of going places alone has never been intimidating to me. Of course, it’s always nice to be with people you know and love, but that can’t always be the case. And when it’s not, best believe I make the best of my time away.

I decided to create this page due to many of my friends and family picking my brain about where I’m off to and the experiences that I have. My hope is to not only give insight to my happenings, but to also inspire others to create their own memories abroad. If I can do it, then you surely can too!

Follow me as I give you insight to how I journey— the places I visit, the foods I eat, and the people I meet!
